After the earthquake in Nepal, my friend and I came with the idea to start our own fundraising. We had the idea to make Samosa's and sell them. With help of many people we had a stand at a school program and a local festival.
The earthquake and the damage it caused concerned everyone and we could not just put this beside us without doing something! That's why we wanted to give our support by selling samosa's.
In may 2015 we contact many event-organizers to find events where we could sell our snack. Many people where willing to help us by giving us a stand in their event. Finding the places to sell the snack was easy and fast. Making the snack was a different story....We wanted to make everything by ourselves, the dough and the filling. Many of the ingredients we got sponsored. With a group of 10 people we spend hours and days to make samosa's. To start with peeling 20 kilos of potatoes and to end with one by one folding our snacks.
Selling the samosa's was also not an easy job. All the snacks where freshly baked at sight, so even then we needed a lot of help.
Finally we collected 1000 euros and we could convince our city to donate another 500 euro's to top it up. The help of many good friends and people who have a heart for Nepal made our fundraising a success!
